It’s Called Luck

Some people, like dad, are extremely lucky. I mean, what kind of person manages to win 100 liters of wine (very good quality at that) TWICE in a row? Apparently dad does, and apparently this gives him reason to buy a small Christmas tree *sulks*. See below:

Christmas Tree

The barrel is from last Christmas, since we hadn’t found enough bottles for storing and thus being able to open this year’s barrel. Apparently, once opened, the wine must be put into tightly closed bottles for it not to ferment. Keeping in mind that, this year Santa has finally brought us a digital camera, I’m expecting more ‘wine-conquering’ pictures like below:

Dad the wine conqueror

Me, on the other hand, somehow only manage to muddle up even the simplest tasks. At the beginning of December I finally found some determination (lying around unused) and got my ears pierced1. Having been given two pairs of earrings at Christmas, I couldn’t wait another week and had to try them on. In the end I only tried the following pair on:

Earrings

… since they looked less threatening. Not only did I manage to bloody both my ears in the process, but I also needed an entire hour to put the medical earrings back on. I also managed to waste 1/2 bottle of hydrogen peroxide, in the process (at least that’s cheap). Granted, 3/4 of said hour was spent glaring at my reflection as a means of braving the pain (it damn well hurt, but I can’t have the holes close up).

The second pair of earrings, while quite interesting looking, seems much too lethal in my current position. Still, I’ve made a snapshot so you can see what I’ll be voluntarily torturing myself with (as put by mom):

Lethal Earrings

It’s your job to assure me that this is normal, and that I’m not suffering of some form of masochism.

Site Update: new article for those interested in creating a WPR site - Taking Up Reviewing. Tell me what you think, should you be patient enough to go through all of it. Speaking of which, I WILL get through my YS.nu ‘clients’ this holiday… or at the very least I’ll try, as I’ll be going into finals-induced isolation till the start of February.

1 Meaning that I went to a jewelry store which also did ear piercing (using a gun-like ’stapler’).

I’m OLD

… oh yes, with capital letters. I can’t believe it: THIS IS SOOOO NOT ME!

Me(whining): I’m YOUNG! I can do everything! This is not fair!
Dad(nodding condescendingly): … or not.

What this is all about? Ah well it’s really simple… yet unimaginably embarrassing - to say the least.

For some reason, I can’t really stay on my computer chair while programming. I just CAN’T. I have a tendency to jump up, move around, throw myself on the sofa (also my bed) attempt to stand on my head… you name it. Just imagine my shock when - after throwing myself on the sofa - I literally can’t get up. Since my tolerance to pain is extremely close to nonexistent, we shall not count the 2 miliseconds I spent upright. Unfortunately, not even 30 minutes of writhing and moaning pitifully helped, so I pretty much spent the whole weekend in bed… moaning, feeling sorry for myself… as well as apologizing for having to be served.

Right now it does feel rather better, however I still can’t imitate a pretzel… not that I NEED to imitate any… it’s just the inability which frustrates me to no end.

Funny excerpt:

Hey I’m X, I didn’t make her layout, I just gave her the code, And it was not that terrible, I told Y bout it, buecause she a beginner I just let her play with it, but she really messd up the code, my code only had like 30 errors , I admit, I’m not all that great at coding. I don’t know why I send you this message, but I wanted to clear my name, I shouldn’t help people, but I can’t help it. I figure she use the code to learn.

I know I shouldn’t quote/use others’ (public) messages1, I just can’t help myself.

Miracle!

Oh yes, it’s me with an update. Unbelievable, yet true in spite all your (im)possible misgivings. And since yours truly had been feeling so guilty for not updating (i.e. I was extremely lazy), I have a new layout (refresh if things look odd).

Aside this, I have also updated the following pages, however only graphic-wise:

Aside this, I have also added a site map (linked at the bottom of every page), should anyone need it.
Right now, I’m still working on things, but feel free to point out any mistakes you notice. And of course DO tell me what you think of the new layout, as well as the changes.

P.S. For those of you wondering (by the use of weird google searches):
I don’t know if Vera is (will be) or not a trendy name - though I hope not: so google searches of my name can lead the majority of you here :P
