To Sleep or Not To Sleep

Today was one of those days I just couldn’t seem to wake up. I was 90% asleep on my way to work, for all that I can’t take any public transportation (and I can’t drive). After having finally reached my desk, I nearly fall on my face: the place was chock full of huge boxes.

Deciding that death by tripping1 did not look particularly inviting, I decided to brave the coffee maker. It’s free after all. Now if you know me at all, you will be aware of the fact that I would never willingly drink coffee… under ANY circumstances2, therefore me+coffee drinking should’ve been consigned in the Guiness book. sadly my co-workers have not yet come to know me that well… plus I was alone at that ungodly hour (8:50 am).

Suffice to say that I certainly woke up: more like gagged up. Fortunately I remembered that I was responsible for the computer, and decided that paying for damages would not be a good way to spend my first salary.

___________

1 not to mention my boss’ reaction

2 well my best friend once took me to a coffee place, where I got this amazing drink… but it was more like liquid pudding, so it doesn’t count :P

I found that a light aerobic exercise before going to bed makes me wake up feeling refreshed

You call 8.50am ungodly? I usually had to be at school by 6am and I couldn’t get my caffeine fix until an hour later.

Jem: I’m just a poser geek

Kat: movement? I’m dead tired after coming home… and I’ve still got exams and project (for another month).

    Anne: yeah… but we’ve got a flexible schedule :P

Normally on days like that, I’ll try to convince myself to live through the day by promising myself a nice looooong 12 hour sleep that night. ;) Nothing feels as good as lazing about in bed for as long as I want after a long, tiresome day.

And uhh, it does seem as though you are in dire need of a good rest. -Points at the calendar - Weekend’s coming right up! ;)

Brenda: I have to study during the weekend because I have 2 exams on Monday respectively Tuesday
Ah well, only 2 more weeks of school (and then the licentiate’s exam in the first week of july) and I’m done with uni (well the bachelor’s degree :P … master comes then… yeah I’m pretty much mental).

You can keep a stash of energy drinks at your office if you’re not a fan of coffee :buckteeth:

Sometimes I can go a whole and entire day without feeling that I woke up at all.

Good thing you didn’t end up giving your work computer a good pour though - I bet I would if I have had a cup of unexpected coffee.
