Last week, the first couple of days at work had been extremely hectic. Not withstanding that I’m the resident n00b at work, I had to create a layout, and learn JavaScript in about… oh 2 hours. Now I’m generally rather against the latter, but if my boss told me to…
Anyway, after finally being able to come home, I stopped at a deli, for some juice. Not only did I have to wait for three people in front of me, but one of them turned back for more, just when it was my turn. So huffing annoyed, I exited, thinking I’ll stop at another one on the way.
In the second shop I entered, the two cashiers were talking to a man about politics, the latter not buying anything. Assuming that being a customer I get priority, I inquire about the juice’s price, since I didn’t see it posted anywhere. I’d like to mention that I was standing about 2 feet apart from the cashier, in her direct line of view. The lady waits about 1 minute and then continues her discussion with the man, who at the time had been standing behind me. Angered, I literally turned my back on her and marched out of the shop.
Finally, I manage to get my juice at the third shop, where a very kind and smiling lady immediately answered my question, for all that I wasn’t the only shopper in sight.
Going home, what is the first thing I rant about? Hoping of course mom and dad would understand me, but what do I get?
Dad (uncertainly): You turned your back and went out? That was a little rude…
Mom: Whoa! That company makes you work fast!
So which is it? Am I rude , or just demanding of superhuman speed?

I think it’s the latter
Now,you have to think…who is to blame?
Were you angry because of the bad service or because you were a weak costumer?(spelling?,client).
Haha. I think you’re completely in the right. The politics talking man was rude, in my opinion. I think its funny tht neither of your parents sympathized, and your mom completely ignored the (I’m sure, dramatic) rant.
Closed Fist Trainee I just wanted a juice… preferably this century… so I’m assuming I was angry about the bad service. I suppose I could have been a “better” consumer, but I didn’t feel like insisting if they ignored me.
marMarmar she generally does
You didn’t do anything wrong, IMNHO. I did the same a couple of times, when both the other customers (who were actually behind me) and the store workers were ignoring me. And my mom and dad agreed with me so…your mom and dad are wrong.
You didn’t do anything wrong, but knowing me, I would have probably sat through it at the first store. I’m too shy and nice around strangers to do something mean to them.
Iva: thought so
Kimmie: well I didn’t do anything mean either… I mean, I frequently enter and just exit empty handed since I don’t find what I look for
I would’ve given them a rude, pissed-off looking face, THEN leave. But that’s because I’m crazy
Don’t sweat it, you did the right thing
