I’m a goner… apparently

Not that I find it a bad thing; besides that’s one more item to add to my snob list (i.e. blog-snob, code-snob, WPRer-snob etc.)

This morning, while listening to the radio:

Woman (on the radio): … and people have donated various blogs to be hung on the Christmas tree. These blogs shall remain on the tree till January 3rd.

Vera is trying (and failing) to picture blogs being hung on a Christmas tree.

How is that possible? Will bloggers put post-it notes on it? Oh… OOOH…. GLOBES.1

Out shopping with a friend, who opens the door for yours truly:

Friend: Ladies first, and rapists next.
Vera: Sorry? I didn’t quite catch the last part.
Friend: Rapists; you know, guys who sexually harass women.
Vera: OH… I thought you had said something about arrays2. I guess I’m a bit obsessed… :hehe:
Friend: No, I’M obsessed. You are a goner.

On a different note, I’m on holiday till after New Years, so I get to finally finish upload all most of my old content with the necessary revisions… as well as diminish my review list :P … er, well hopefully.

______________
1 In Romanian globe is very similar in pronunciation to blog.
2 As in, programming arrays (i.e. lists)

Haha, I think this shows that you’ve reached a new, special level of geekiness _0_/

I love these emoticons you have here, by the way :D

Vera: extremely proud if it too XD As for the smileys, all compliments go to Aneesah (see credits).

Lol that’s cute. It’s something I’ve been doing too. :P I don’t mishear things so much, but I hear certain things and think in coding terms.

Well, I first didn’t get it either. How would you attach blogs to a tree? It’s impossible, until I read your post again…ahh

    What’s a goner? That I didn’t get :(

Vera: someone who can’t be helped (cured) anymore XP

aha, I’m constantly thinking of blogging too. At school, I’ll suddenly burst out with “This is definitely going into my blog!”
and then i’ll get weird looks from my classmates :P

Vera: haha, I always think of such things. XD

    Hurray for IT geeks. :P

@ Vera & previous commenter: I am always saying that too. To an extent that when my friends do/say something silly, the next thing they’d say is “No Brenda, you’re NOT quoting me on your blog.” ;)

I quite often hear something similar to - but not exactly what is being said - ending up leaving me wondering how to put blogs on trees as well or something like that.

Yeah, I read it. You did sound harsh, but that’s what you’re SUPPOSE to do! She said it herself that her website is far from perfect, and she needs more improvement. So then why did she submitted it to a reviewing website, and not expect such harsh comments? I think she’s more defensive than insecure. Than again, I don’t have anything against her, but she took my comment as attacking her.

Oh, and about my blog, I have a strong mind, but even strong people can be vulnerable. I have vulnerable days where I’m just crying for no reasons. :) Just to tell you.

Lol. Look what happens when you’re being honest? Well, let’s just say I received 1,000 emails from the same person. (not Holly, mind you, but her “fan”)

Vera: What do you expect from someone who goes around randomly insulting webmasters who have better a site than hers? By the way, I believe I provided my e-mail address to you. So next time if your comment in not related to the entry, please e-mail me instead.

And once again, I am completely lost. But that could also be due to being 4 in the morning. LOL

Vera: I’m obsessed with coding/programming? Since I ‘fantasize’ about blogs on a Christmas tree and all… :P

Haha, very nice. I’m just confused on what your friend meant about you being a goner? 0_o

    BTW: Thank you for commenting on my site, in reply to your comment;

What you said sort of sounds like Section 8. Basically it’s when the state pays for half of your living expenses based on what you get on a monthly basis. Currently my mother and I have this, but living here in Florida is a little tough.

Yes, the thought of my living on my own is scary, that’s why I wouldn’t mind doing it with a friend, but then again, I know I’d feel a little awkward in the beginning. =) haha.

Vera: My friend is also a programmer, and he also likes to talk about geeky stuff.
I actually meant that the state can hire a person to take care of your mom, so you don’t have to do everything. Sure the money here is very little as well… but better than nothing. I’ll be starting to live on my own in half a year and it’s definitely scary (I try to think about other things).

    Sorry for doubling posting…

Ah, ok I get what you mean now. If they do that here, I’m 100% sure my mother would never want it. She doesn’t like getting help from outside people. If anything, and I really hope so, she would move back up North where the rest of my family is and get ten times better help up there. I’ll just have to wait patiently and see how all of this rolls out. =)

Good luck with your moving out also.

Vera: my grandma was the same at first, but she got used to it. She liked having someone to boss around ;-)

Haha, blogs on a tree. I personally pictured printed out screencaps of various blogs, with holes punched in the top and a decorative string threaded through to tie to the tree.
