Every once in a while, employees (and employers as well, I guess) are required to take a so called work protection test, to show that they are aware of work hazards and are constantly on their toes. It’s occasions like these that remind my colleagues of their more obscure job requirements1:

The examiner is looking at colleague A’s test.

Examiner: A you’re part of an intervention team, right?
A: Um… no?
B: Yeah… he’s part of SWAT all right.
Examiner: No… I mean, some of you have extra tasks, in case of danger.
B: Oh yeah, I know. I’m the one who busts the power source.
C: And I’m the one who chucks the monitors out the window.

It’s times like these that make me glad I’m a junior developer. I’m not sure I could easily lift that many monitors. Granted, our windows are low…

What are your tasks in case of fire?

_________
1 working as a computer programmer, makes fires especially dangerous: lots of electric equipment around.

Tasks in case of fires are to get customers out and then get myself out.

Tasks in case of fire.. I haven’t got a clue :P I don’t think I have any xD Although at work I could do some extinguishing with the cool hose I get to use (provided the fire is in the kitchen)
At school it’s just to get myself out :P

Mine is to ensure all students have assembled in the safe assembly points. But then if I can’t, I just have to get myself out.

As a student, I’m just supposed to stay calm, line up, and exit the building quickly but in an orderly fashion.

In case of a psycho school shooting occurence, one of my teachers expects all the students in the class to make a protective wall/barrier around him and allow him to escape :P So, I feel pretty important!

I work at a really small library where there’s nothing but ancient books. I supposed we won’t be asked to save them, so walking out seems the most reasonable option :S

They never told me anything about fire safety, and it hadn’t even crossed my mind :star:

I think our job is to put out the fire, the school wouldn’t want to spend so much money on repairs so we can’t just leave and let it grow.

I have Aisling’s job, but quicker. The only flammable stuff round here is the thirty cannisters of gas. XD

Vera: eh… don’t we all? Oh wait… no we don’t. I certainly hope they never get in your way in case of a fire O_o

Run. No but really, it’s to grab my computer and then run.

Vera: ah you’re a nice one. I’d just run ;)

In case of fire: spread it to the computer science department.

    P.S. I have encountered C, and I must say, I hate it.

Vera: *nods* as long as it’s far away from you, anything goes
