The first few days are terrible (couldn't carry my haversack without wincing) but subsequently, it became better. And yes, there's the peeling. But I remember my friend informing me now to accelerate the peeling by err ... peeling the skin off yourself or anything of that sort because otherwise it wouldn't heal as fast.
