First Impression: Interesting. The site loaded fast, always a plus, because if it takes too long I click out. The layout is certainly unique, but unfortunately, not at all my cup of tea. The colors don't really match that well in my opinion. Your font color on the main banner doesn't match anything really (except for the hand on the clock). However, I am very glad it's organized. The layout isn't exactly a turnoff for me, so I shall march on from this point.
Decide: does it or doesn't it match. Am I to understand that you wouldn't have gone further if the layout had been worse?

You seem to have a lot of pages...just some grammar issues here.

In England, it's quite common to see 'Give me my pickles,' said Dan, but in America, there's only "Give me my pickles," said Dan. I don't know if you messed up or tried to combine the two. )
There is only one apostrophe. The second one is for 'scuse, seeing that the word is 'cutt off' from 'excuse'
And, also, the "Hogshead" link in "Places Frequented" doesn't work.
Well! You certainly have A LOT of content. It took me forever to plow through it all, and for that, I salute you. It's hard to find a site with so much content. I also like how you have a lot the helping-articles, such as Writer's Block, Writing and Essay, and the like. I can tell you put a lot of time into the site, and it's very organized, so I'm not complaining there.
So, your content in a nutshell...
Whatever happened to 'We will take each page and review it seperately'? There's a BIG difference between reviewing and giving a score.

Well, I'm sorry to say, apart from this review, I probably wouldn't come back, unless we were blog-friends or something and I wanted to read your blog. The site doesn't really stand out to me. The layout isn't the best and there isn't really any content that I need to read up on. This may just be my personal preference. I can see you've put a lot of effort into everything. However, personal/blog sites have never really proved useful to me, but I'm sure you have visitors who would heartily disagree.
Apologizing for having a certain opinion just proves your lack of backbone. Want to review? Fine: then take responsibility for your opinions.

Better, though I don't agree with her opinion on the layout, Then again, I highly dislike her blog's layout, so I guess we're even. She didn't read my PHP articles, yet took the liberty to comment on their content.
Layout: 5 out of 30 points
I don't like it. Too plain. Too boring. It looks incredibly easy to make. A little more than average time to code. The way the text standing out like that isn't my style at all, I prefer text looking like its blended with the image, because in my opinion, if youre text stands out too much from the picture, it looks as if you took an ordinary wallpaper or a picture and just added your words on top. Too mainstream. Too ordinary. But I give some points to this site because it looks professional; the webmistress is definatly a mature person...but this is the layout rating so yeah.
I can assure you that having full sentences is even easier to make, not to mention running your review through a spell checker.

Organized. Definately. Not only this page, but all of them. Everything is indented the right way, there is a drop down arrow with a brief description of the page. It has a lot about a webmistress if someone wants to know about her (stalkers! jp) She has basic facts about herself, an autobiography, pictures, ways to contact her, etc. Quick facts, and more in dept stuff. Very good.
Definitely... if you please. Also, I have a self description NOT an autobigraphy. And why do you need to summarize my content?

Has a lot of good information for website newbies. Such as using PHP. I already know how to use PHP and what it is, but if I didn't, I would find the information useful and get the hang of it in less than an hour. She also gives and some interesting writing tips, which are very helpful for people who want to improve their writing skills...
Or not. Might I suggest actually reading an article before issuing an opinion on it? You know, so that it could be relevant to the author.

a lot of information on the site itself. The current layout information is very in depth. It definatly looks mature, but I still dont like it XD The history on the site is most interesting. I honestly don't remember my own site histories much, and she wrote possibly every single thing down... to her very first site, to her problems with it, etc etc...
Basically links out. Many sub-catogories. Very organized... No Broken Links, Definitely a plus.
"On the Doorstep" : 10 out of 10 points
Her main page. Her blog..like every other blog, it has the date, the title of the entry, comment link, and...the entry. Very organized, just like the rest of the layout.

Even though I blabbered on and on about how much this site is so in proportion, organized, and extremly professional looking, it's missing the "WOW" thing. I'm the type of web person that browse sites, and if the layout is boring or ugly (it's not ugly, but it is boring). I dont like the layout one bit. I know this isn't a layout only review, but still. This is my opinion...the content is interesting and helpful, yes it is...but if the site's layout isn't appealing, 90% of the people who are passing by wouldn't stop and read the content. I know that for a fact...So. This site needs a better layout. Well, this site DESERVES a better layout. Sorry if I am too harsh, or whatever...if the layout looked as if it had 90% more effort and creativity (The site ITSELF looks like it has effort put into the content, but not layout), I'd probably given this site a better review.
Great way to finish off: if you had a better site I'd have put more effort into my review. Nothing gets me going like an insult.
